This important event will demonstrate how partners are already working together to make the vision a reality. In Hounslow , Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hillingdon, Harrow and Hammersmith and Fulham  the LEP's Growth Deal 'Trailblazer' has defined new, integrated models of provision that abolish boundaries between Mental Health and Employment services. Our Higher Education Institutions are creating new ways to connect with Small and Medium Enterprises to unlock their growth potential. This programme will save £10 for every pound invested.

Our Skills Escalator Programme to help entry level West Londoners earn more money by obtaining the training employers need, will save £8 for every pound invested and help and increase business productivity.

We have designed a new way of getting young people into work and training  together with young people, schools and partners and this new programme will help them to have a clear path to maximise current support and to support them through difficult transitions ; providing savings of £6 for every pound spent.

Taken together, we are confident that, with the right support from partners locally and nationally, we'll see growth of 200,000 jobs while reducing public sector spending.
West London features nationally important opportunity areas including Old Oak Common, Brent Cross, Colindale, White City, Hayes, Wembley and the largest industrial park in UK at Park Royal. Partners have prioritised growth and are developing clear plans to help deliver the supporting infrastructure required.

The West London Vision for Growth sees the area as a thriving and prosperous part of a world city, with highly profitable businesses investing in West London, with successful residents and resilient communities. As a 'dynamic contributor to a successful world city', the vision includes the following key outcomes:

  • Practical and realistic support to business
  • Business driving our growth partnership
  • Improved skills to meet business need and provide well-paid jobs
  • Supporting people into work
  • Sustainable housing solutions
  • Town Centres for work and life

With first-hand accounts of our progress in these areas, and announcements expected this week about whether we've been successful in four significant 'Transformation Challenge Fund  applications, partners at the launch will have the opportunity to signal ongoing support to help achieve their shared ambition to make West London an engine for growth, of global significance.
